About Central Bank of India
Central Bank of India is a government-owned bank with its corporate office in Mumbai, Maharashtra. It was established in 1911 and is considered to be one of the oldest and largest commercial banks in India. Sir Sorabji Pochkhanawala was the founder of the Bank and Sir Pherozesha Mehta was the first Chairman. It was the first Indian commercial bank which was wholly owned and managed by Indians. The bank was nationalized in the year 1969.
